The TRAVEL Chair at the 7th SoAR Symposium in Frankfurt

This week, the TRAVEL Chair team is attending the SoAR Symposium (Symposium on Aviation Research), hosted by the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences. This event is a major European gathering dedicated to scientific research on the economic and operational challenges of air transport.

Dedicated to the study of passenger demand, the TRAVEL Chair’s mission is to decipher traveler choice mechanisms to support the strategic decision-making of air transport stakeholders. On this occasion, the Chair’s team presented the results of their latest research:

  • Impact of Fiscal Policies: Sai BRAVO presented “The Impact of Fiscal Policy on Air Travel: A Synthetic Control Analysis of the French Chirac Tax Revision”,
  • Behavior and Intermodality: Imane Hoummirat presented her work titled “From Travel Intent to Mode Selection: Behavioral Drivers of Air-Rail Intermodal Choices”,
  • Passenger Data Analysis: Zélie Gankon shared the findings of her study “Determinants of Air-Rail Intermodality: Evidence from the 2024 French National Air Passenger Survey”.

We are sincerely grateful to our patrons Air Caraïbes, French bee, and Aérogestion whose support via the ENAC Foundation is crucial in carrying out these research projects and serving the objectives of industry players.
